STONE CARVING CLASSES &
STONE ASSEMBLAGE CLASSES

Learn to hand-carve stone with highly acclaimed sculptor, Carolann Haggard in her stone studio in southeast Dallas.  Whether using manual or pneumatic air tools, abstract or realism, both beginners and advanced students will be guided through projects that best meet their individual aesthetic goals and technical capabilities.  Initial roughing out, developing a form, final finishing and polishing are presented during the course, along with tool sharpening and maintenance.

A wealth of marble and limestone, in many colors, is available at Ms. Haggard's studio.  Small antiques and a multitude of glass and tiles are available for those who want to combine them with their stone-carving to create assemblage sculpture.  Instruction is individually oriented so that all levels of experience will benefit from this great opportunity to carve.  Participants will end the course with the basic knowledge necessary to work on their own.

Classes are offered days and evenings, indoor and outside in a wooded lot, at times chosen by the students, with additional studio time available.  Class fee of $35.00 per hour includes clay for a model, a piece of limestone for practice, use of Art/Sculpture Library, and use of tables.  Class size is limited to six, so call or e-mail now to enroll.

Classes in Tuscany, Italy, are also available.
